She was born in 1964 and raised in San Juan in the third extension of the Country Club in Carolina. She defines herself as the latest 'baby boomer', to place her on the stage of a generation that experienced social change, adjusts and continues to evolve and work intensely for her personal and collective development.
She was educated in public school and at the University of Puerto Rico in Río Piedras, where she obtained a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Journalism. Carmen Enid has 30 years of experience in the world of the media in Puerto Rico, written press and radio, which today are constituted in digital multimedia.
Her journalistic work specialized in daily coverage of police events and the coverage of courtrooms on the national stage and that of the United States Court in Puerto Rico. In 2001, she discovered that the former Secretary of the Department of Education, Víctor Fajardo, was the leader of a scheme in the New Progressive Party (PNP) to solicit bribes from agency contractors, to subsidize the 1996 political campaign, which placed him as the first head of that agency in history convicted of corruption.
Carmen Enid has extensive experience as an investigative journalist that has earned her achievements such as the Malen Rojas Daporta Research Award, from the Overseas Press Club and the National Award from the Puerto Rico Journalists Association, between the 90’s and early 2000’s.
